Fleet Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, results‑driven Fleet Operations Manager to lead the performance, safety and cost‑effectiveness of a fleet of over 100 vehicles and 50+ material handling equipment assets supporting our distribution and retail network across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Define, monitor and report fleet KPIs, driving continuous improvement and capacity planning aligned with business growth.
• Develop and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, managing workshops, service contracts and SLA compliance.
• Control the annual fleet budget, monitor fuel, tyre, repair and outsourced service costs, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Evaluate, implement and optimise telematics, GPS tracking, fuel‑monitoring and maintenance management systems to enhance visibility and decision‑making.
• Lead, coach and develop fleet coordinators, drivers and support staff, managing recruitment, performance and training.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure external partners meet safety, cost and service standards.
• Ensure full compliance with UAE vehicle registration, insurance, permits, inspections and HSE regulations, and drive safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation Management or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of fleet management experience in retail, FMCG, logistics or distribution environments.
• Strong knowledge of UAE transport regulations, commercial vehicle maintenance and asset lifecycle management.
• Proven experience managing maintenance contracts, vendors and service providers.
• Excellent financial, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
