Food Production Manager

About the role

The Food Production Manager oversees daily operations of a food manufacturing facility, ensuring that products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role coordinates production schedules, manages resources, and drives continuous improvement across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production supervisors, operators, technicians, and other manufacturing personnel.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor production schedules based on business requirements and resource availability.
• Allocate employees, equipment, and materials to meet operational demands.
• Monitor output, productivity, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Ensure raw material availability by working with procurement and warehouse teams.
• Oversee receiving, handling, storage, and preparation of food ingredients.
• Maintain compliance with approved recipes, specifications, and production plans.
• Identify and resolve production delays, bottlenecks, and operational issues.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and equipment repairs with engineering and maintenance teams.
• Enforce cleaning, sanitation, and food hygiene standards throughout the facility.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and food safety teams to uphold product quality.
• Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and reporting.
• Monitor waste and implement cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Support inventory management and coordinate finished‑product dispatch.

Required profile

• Proven experience in food manufacturing, food processing, or related industrial operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage production teams and meet production targets.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
• Experience coordinating with procurement, warehouse, and logistics functions.

Required skills
