Foreman – Joinery & Carpentry

About the role

The Foreman will supervise and coordinate daily joinery, carpentry, modular and fit‑out activities, ensuring work is completed to approved drawings, quality standards, schedules and safety requirements. The role leads the workshop/site team, allocates tasks, monitors progress and drives timely completion of assigned work.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of carpenters, joiners and fit‑out workers.
• Allocate tasks based on production priorities, skills and workload.
• Monitor work progress to ensure completion within the planned schedule.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions for joinery and fit‑out works.
• Oversee fabrication and installation of wooden, modular and interior fit‑out components.
• Verify quality and accuracy of completed work against approved standards.
• Coordinate with Production, Design, Engineering and other departments to resolve issues.
• Ensure required materials, tools and equipment are available before work starts.
• Monitor material usage and minimise waste.
• Identify defects or workmanship issues and arrange corrective actions.
• Guide and train team members on proper methods and workmanship standards.
• Maintain a safe, organised work area and enforce PPE and safety procedures.
• Report daily progress, manpower and material requirements to the reporting manager.
• Support urgent production requirements to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with other trades during fit‑out activities to avoid delays.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in joinery/carpentry, preferably in marine, yacht, furniture or high‑end fit‑out environments.
• Previous experience as a Charge Hand, Supervisor or Foreman.
• Strong practical knowledge of joinery, carpentry, modular furniture and interior fit‑out works.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate a team of skilled workers.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and work instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
