Forward Deployed Engineer - Generative AI

About the role

Sia, a global management consulting firm, is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with its clients across the Middle East. Working in the Data & AI team, the engineer turns generative AI prototypes into production-grade solutions, owns the technical delivery of client builds and acts as the bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders. The work is hands-on and varied, from agentic systems to enterprise integrations and AI adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Translate client business needs into scoped, deployable AI solutions with clear acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
• Design, build and deploy production-grade LLM systems, including RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents, workflow automation and conversational interfaces.
• Develop Python or TypeScript services, APIs, connectors and integrations with client data sources and business tools.
• Apply engineering best practice: code review, automated testing, CI/CD, logging and monitoring, tracking quality, latency and cost of AI components.
• Deliver within governed enterprise environments, using approved libraries and services and respecting data access controls and security reviews.
• Communicate trade-offs, progress and risks to client stakeholders and escalate scope changes early.
• Drive adoption through training, documentation and knowledge transfer so clients can run the solution themselves.
• Help define client needs and shape technical solutions for the pipeline, and contribute to internal accelerators, research and training materials on generative AI and agents.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or a related field.
• 2 to 6 years' experience in software engineering or applied AI engineering.
• Experience building beyond low-code, including API design and integration across heterogeneous systems.
• Experience deploying solutions on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud), with Git and CI/CD.
• Experience working in governed enterprise environments (approved libraries, data access controls, security reviews).
• Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical audiences.
• Professional proficiency in English is a must; Arabic is a plus.
• Based in the UAE (Dubai or Abu Dhabi); no certification required.

Required skills

• Strong production experience in Python or TypeScript.
• LLMs and agents running in production, with experience building RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents and LLM workflows, including evaluation and safeguards.
• Applied AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, the OpenAI SDK and the Anthropic SDK.
