Freelance CAD Designer for Immersive Projects

About the role

Rayqube is seeking a highly skilled Freelance CAD Designer to turn concepts, sketches and specifications into precise 2D drawings and 3D models. The role is project‑by‑project, requiring self‑motivation, effective communication and the ability to meet agreed deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D technical drawings, schematics and 3D models based on briefs, sketches or engineering specifications.
• Modify and update existing CAD files in response to feedback from the project team, clients or engineers.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with industry standards, building codes and project‑specific tolerances.
• Maintain organized CAD file structures, layers and project directories for easy hand‑off.
• Participate in kickoff calls or asynchronous communications to clarify requirements, troubleshoot design issues and provide progress updates.

Required profile

• Proven professional experience as a CAD Designer, Drafter or similar role.
• Expert‑level knowledge of industry‑standard CAD software.
• Strong understanding of engineering, manufacturing or architectural principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail with accurate dimensions, annotations and scaling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• A robust portfolio showcasing complex 3D modeling and precise 2D drafting.
