Front Desk Agent (Russian Speaker)

About the role

Fairmont The Palm, a luxury resort on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, is hiring a Russian-speaking Front Desk Agent. The role covers the daily arrival and departure functions of guests, following the Fairmont Service Promise, and requires fluency in English and at least one additional language.

Key responsibilities

• Handle arrivals and departures, register guests and review group resumes, VIP reports and daily business reports
• Cash handling and credit processing, including gift card redemption, and post charges for late check-outs
• Perform the daily bucket check report against guest folios and ensure the cash report is balanced and closed each shift
• Review the room queue with Housekeeping, update due-out and discrepancy records, and inform guests when their room is ready
• Take and deliver guest messages, resolve complaints and follow up with the manager, and act as a backup for the Concierge or Telephone Operator
• Promote the hotel's loyalty programme and upsell services, and use the Royal Service Manager as the main communication tool within the department
• Ensure strict control of room keys and secure guest valuables in the safe deposit box

Required profile

• Fluency in English and at least one other language
• Passion for guest service, excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organised, able to work under pressure and to prioritise independently
• Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, 1 year of hotel experience and knowledge of a loyalty programme are assets

Required skills

• Property management system (Opera) is an asset
• Computer proficiency in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
