Full-Time Faculty Position in Insurance & Risk Management

About the role

The American University in the Emirates seeks a full‑time faculty member for the Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) program for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic community, delivering high‑quality teaching and contributing to research and service activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver research‑informed, practice‑driven courses in insurance and risk management at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Apply innovative, inquiry‑based pedagogical approaches and integrate digital technologies into instruction.
• Supervise theses, capstone projects, and internships.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and collaborate with colleagues.
• Provide academic advising, support curriculum planning, and assist students with career development.
• Participate in curriculum review, program development, accreditation activities, committees, and university service.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, or a closely related field from an accredited U.S. or American‑accredited institution.
• Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the relevant field.
• At least three Scopus‑indexed research publications within the past five years.
• Minimum two years of teaching or professional experience in the field at an internationally accredited university.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
