Gas Turbine Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer

About the role

PowerTech is seeking an experienced Aerodynamics Engineer to lead gas turbine turbomachinery design and analysis within its turbojet and turbofan programs. The role combines technical leadership, project planning, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic design and off‑design analysis of axial and centrifugal compressors and turbines.
• Post‑process engine test data, develop numerical and experimental verification methods, and generate testing guidelines.
• Lead engine architectural studies, define performance metrics, and provide constructive feedback to the team.
• Identify project risks, plan mitigation strategies, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree or related field.
• 5‑15 years of experience in gas turbine propulsion, turbomachinery design, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Hands‑on experience with axial and centrifugal compressor and turbine optimization.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Commercial turbomachinery tools such as Concepts NREC, AxStream or equivalents.
• CFD tools: Ansys CFX, Numeca/Cadence, Fluent.
• Programming in C, Matlab/Simulink.
• Experience with multi‑point, multi‑disciplinary optimization.
• Knowledge of coatings, cooling technologies, and state‑of‑the‑art materials, heat transfer and structural mechanics.
