General Hotel Manager – Sharjah

About the role

The General Hotel Manager will lead Occidental Sharjah Grand, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance and outstanding guest satisfaction in line with Barceló Group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Engineering and Human Resources.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, budgets and forecasts to meet financial targets and optimise efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators, market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Maintain high standards of guest service, quality and cleanliness, addressing feedback promptly.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field (Master’s a plus).
• 8‑10 years of progressive leadership in hotel operations, including 3‑5 years as General Manager of a full‑service hotel.
• Proven track record of achieving financial targets and improving guest satisfaction.
• Strong understanding of all hotel departmental functions and interdependencies.
• Fluency in English; Arabic or additional languages are a significant advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Hotel Management Systems (PMS).
• Experience using revenue management software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
