About the role

Veolia is seeking a General Manager to lead the operations of its waste‑to‑energy plant in Sharjah. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on management to maximise energy production, ensure safety and drive sustainable performance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily plant operations, maintenance and safety procedures to guarantee reliable production.
• Develop and execute efficiency and cost‑optimisation strategies while meeting production targets.
• Manage the plant budget, financial performance and profitability.
• Ensure full compliance with local regulations, environmental standards and corporate policies.
• Lead, coach and evaluate a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government authorities, customers and partners.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and monitor key performance indicators.

Required profile

• Proven senior management experience in industrial or waste‑to‑energy facilities.
• Strong track record of achieving operational and financial targets.
• Excellent knowledge of regulatory and environmental compliance in the UAE.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
