General Practitioner – Diabetes Educator

About the role

Metabolic is a pioneering healthcare facility focused on advanced diabetes management. The role leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the physician pathway for metabolic and diabetes care, ensuring General Practitioners are properly classified, trained, and certified.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a classification framework for Metabolic Specialists and specialist GPs, defining scope of practice, referral thresholds, and escalation pathways.
• Lead the Metabolic Certification Program, designing training pathways, assessing competency, and certifying physicians according to ADA and JCIA standards.
• Oversee integration of physicians into CGM onboarding, remote glucose monitoring, medication refill, and continuity‑of‑care workflows.
• Manage scheduling, workforce planning, and coverage to ensure safe staffing across clinics and remote services.
• Monitor clinical quality, patient experience, and implement corrective education plans.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and valid DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.
• Board‑certified General Practitioner with experience in diabetology/endocrinology.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• CGM device onboarding and interpretation (e.g., Freestyle, Dexcom, Medtronic).
• Insulin pump training, installation, monitoring, and adjustment.
• Insulin titration, carb counting, and ICR calculation for type 1 diabetes.
• Remote glucose monitoring program management.
