General Technician – Hotel Engineering & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a skilled General Technician to join the Engineering and Maintenance team at Desert Islands Resort & Spa, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance across the hotel.
• Respond to maintenance requests for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, air‑conditioning and general building issues.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces and equipment regularly.
• Perform basic AC cleaning and servicing as needed.
• Report major defects and equipment failures to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Assist specialized technicians and contractors, and maintain cleanliness of work areas.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a General or Maintenance Technician, preferably in a hotel or resort.
• Hands‑on knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, AC, painting and carpentry.
• Good troubleshooting, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends and public holidays, and to live on a remote resort.
