General Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

As a General Technician at a luxury hotel, you will ensure the property’s physical safety and functionality while delivering memorable guest experiences. You will work across multiple building systems, keeping the hotel operating smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and perform maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural elements.
• Diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate repairs with Engineering and Housekeeping to avoid guest disruption.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety protocols, permit‑to‑work, lockout/tagout, and risk‑assessment procedures.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire‑life safety, and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and operation manuals.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of hotel/facility equipment.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), Guestroom Management System (GRMS) and Chiller Management System (CMS).
• Understanding of energy‑conservation practices and efficient operation of building services.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
