Government Relations Director (Remote, Part‑time)

About the role

The Government Relations Director will work remotely on a part‑time basis to build and maintain strategic relationships with government entities and regulatory bodies. The role involves monitoring legislation, analysing policy impacts, and guiding the organisation's public affairs strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor relevant legislation and policy developments and assess their impact on the organisation.
• Prepare clear briefs, position papers, and recommendations for senior management.
• Coordinate and execute advocacy initiatives and lobbying campaigns.
• Represent the organisation in meetings, hearings, and consultations with public officials.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align business objectives with public‑policy opportunities.
• Develop communication materials for stakeholders and maintain accurate records of governmental interactions and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in governmental affairs and proven ability to engage with public officials and agencies.
• Experience in lobbying, legislative relations, and advocacy campaign planning.
• Solid understanding of legislation and regulatory processes with the ability to interpret and communicate impacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting policy briefs and formal correspondence.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part‑time environment, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, law, international relations or a related field; an advanced degree is an asset.
