About the role

GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate Grade 3 Teacher to join its American curriculum and IB continuum team starting August 2026. The role involves delivering inquiry‑based learning, fostering curiosity, and supporting each learner’s full potential in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑aligned lessons using inquiry‑based and differentiated instruction.
• Support diverse learners, including English Language Learners and gifted students.
• Create a positive, respectful classroom culture that promotes collaboration and well‑being.
• Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance learning experiences.
• Assess student progress through authentic methods and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and unit planning.
• Participate in co‑curricular and community programmes to support holistic learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/state license or equivalent).
• Experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and support students through purposeful learning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and an inclusive school culture.
