Group Chief Accountant

About the role

The Group Chief Accountant will lead the end‑to‑end accounting function for a fast‑moving consumer goods organization, ensuring accurate financial close, robust reporting, and strong financial governance. This senior position partners closely with operations, production, procurement, and commercial teams to drive profitability and cash‑flow efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and year‑end financial close, preparing statutory statements, management reports and performance analysis.
• Maintain the general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, provisions and ensure IFRS compliance.
• Develop and maintain product costing models, margin analysis and monitor production costs, inventory valuation and wastage.
• Manage accounts receivable, customer ageing, credit exposure and drive working‑capital improvements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and prepare KPI dashboards for strategic decisions.
• Strengthen internal controls across procurement, inventory, sales and finance processes; lead ERP optimisation and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate statutory and external audits and ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and other regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent).
• 8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Background in FMCG, food production, manufacturing, retail or related high‑volume environments.
• Proven ability to manage large transactional volumes and drive cost optimisation.
