Group HR Manager – School Group

About the role
International Community Schools (ICS) is looking for an experienced Group HR Manager to lead the Human Resources function across its network of schools in Abu Dhabi. This senior, strategic role will shape HR policies, systems and practices that support the organisation’s vision and operational goals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a group‑wide HR strategy aligned with the school group’s objectives.
- Standardise HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks and internal guidelines across all campuses.
- Lead end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding, probation, promotion, transfer, succession planning and employee exit processes.
- Advise senior management, principals and department heads on workforce planning, organisational structure and employee relations.
- Design and manage performance appraisal, staff development, employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Ensure consistent, fair application of HR policies and handle grievances, disciplinary matters and investigations.
- Maintain accurate employee records, organisational charts, job descriptions and HR documentation.
- Prepare HR dashboards and management reports covering recruitment, turnover, attendance, vacancies and performance.
- Guarantee compliance with UAE Labour Law, regulatory requirements, safeguarding standards and internal school policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including managerial or leadership roles.
- Proven experience developing HR policies, procedures, systems and organisational frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law and local employment practices.
- Experience in a multi‑site educational institution or school group is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic proficiency is a significant advantage.
- High standards of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
