Group Insurance Manager – Logistics & Marine Liability

About the role

The Group Insurance Manager – Logistics & Marine Liability will act as the focal point for insurance activities across DP World’s logistics and freight forwarding operations. Reporting to the Group Director Manager for Logistics, the role ensures a coordinated, cost‑effective insurance strategy is applied throughout the Middle East & Africa, Australasia, Subcontinent and UAE regions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and negotiate commercial contracts for logistics and marine lines, ensuring appropriate global and operation‑specific insurance cover.
• Interpret contractual drafting, provide risk‑transfer advice and pricing guidance on a contract‑by‑contract basis.
• Deliver workshops, presentations and training programmes on best insurance practices to local, regional and global stakeholders.
• Promote and advise on insurance products such as Shipper’s Interest and Cargo War Insurance, supplying statistics to management.
• Control Group Insurance costs through timely renewals, exposure declarations and market submissions.
• Integrate newly acquired companies into Group Insurance programmes, assessing risk exposure and communicating coverage procedures.
• Monitor premium payments, issue certificates, produce monthly statistics and respond to coverage queries.
• Provide insurers with accurate declarations, manage claims, coordinate large losses and support loss‑prevention initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in insurance management for logistics, freight forwarding or marine operations.
• Strong ability to interpret and advise on contractual risk and pricing.
• Experience delivering training and workshops on insurance best practices.
• Track record of managing renewals, cost control and integration of acquired entities into insurance programmes.
• Capability to monitor premium payments, produce reporting and handle claims coordination.
