Head Bartender – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Head Bartender to lead its bar operations within the Food & Beverage department. You will be responsible for delivering an exceptional beverage experience that aligns with the hotel’s luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring service meets the hotel’s concept and quality standards.
• Lead, train, and develop the bar team in mixology, freestyle bartending, and beverage knowledge.
• Engage guests by recommending cocktails, wines, and non‑alcoholic drinks, applying suggestive‑selling techniques.
• Maintain bar inventory, presentation, cleanliness, and compliance with licensing regulations.
• Collaborate on menu development, promotions, and the bar’s business and marketing plans.

Required profile

• Diploma or professional certification in Bartending, Mixology, Hospitality Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of bartending experience in a luxury hotel, resort, fine‑dining restaurant or high‑end bar.
• Previous supervisory experience as a Senior or Head Bartender is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with international guests.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of cocktail preparation, beverage recipes, and mixology techniques.
• Proficiency in bar inventory management, cash handling, and point‑of‑sale systems.
• Strong understanding of responsible service of alcohol and licensing regulations.
