Head Chef - Steakhouse

About the role

SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences, a luxury 5-star city hotel in Downtown Dubai belonging to the Accor group, is looking for a Head Chef. The role leads all daily culinary operations of the restaurant, which follows a steakhouse concept, and works closely with the Executive Chef.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily kitchen operations, mise en place, production, service and workflow
• Maintain food quality, taste, presentation, consistency and portion control, and prepare dishes to approved recipes and standards
• Supervise, train, motivate and develop the culinary team, and manage staffing, scheduling and briefings
• Work with the Executive Chef on menu development and seasonal offerings, and uphold the steakhouse culinary identity
• Monitor food costs, yields and wastage, and coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers
• Ensure food safety, HACCP compliance, hygiene and cleanliness, and handle guest feedback and complaints
• Support banquet, VIP and special dining requirements, and maintain kitchen equipment

Required profile

• Culinary degree, diploma or professional qualification; equivalent experience may be considered
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive culinary experience, preferably in luxury hotels, upscale restaurants or premium steakhouses, with at least 2-3 years in a senior supervisory or Head Chef role
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage
