Head of Business Studies (starting August)

About the role

GEMS Al Barsha National School is seeking a dynamic Head of Business Studies to join the team in August 2026. This senior teaching position leads the Business curriculum, ensuring high‑quality instruction that aligns with both the National Curriculum for England and UAE cultural values.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Business lessons for students of varying abilities.
• Foster strong reading, writing and communication skills through purposeful learning experiences.
• Assess, record and report student progress, using data to inform planning and differentiation.
• Maintain an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative schemes of work and share best practice.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student achievement.
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development and co‑curricular activities.
• Uphold GEMS Education’s core values and contribute to the wider school community.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a closely related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification/licence (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• Creative and skilled classroom practitioner with high expectations for student achievement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement.
