Head of Inclusion (AY 2026/2027) – Immediate Start

About the role

The Head of Inclusion will lead inclusion initiatives across Al Shohub Private School, ensuring high standards of educational achievement for students with special needs.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage and promote inclusion at all school levels.
• Provide exemplary classroom teaching and guide staff on SEN and inclusion.
• Liaise with colleagues, external agencies and professionals.
• Line‑manage staff supporting children with special needs.
• Maintain accurate records, IEPs and coordinate care plans.
• Induct and train the Inclusion team and assistants.
• Participate in admissions, assessments and transitions of students with disabilities.
• Prepare documentation for ADEK and other bodies.
• Maintain SEN registers and rigorous data on progress and attainment.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a SEN qualification (Master’s level or external certification).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in SEN, including leadership of SEN/Learning Support in a primary or secondary school.
• Evidence of implementing strategic inclusion initiatives and measurable impact.

Required skills

• Expertise in leading a special education or inclusion team.
• Ability to develop high‑quality IEPs and intervention plans.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate SEN registers and using data to monitor progress.
• Experience delivering specific intervention programmes and evaluating their effectiveness.
