Education Counsellor – Canada and USA

About the role

The Education Counsellor will guide international students in selecting suitable institutions and programmes in Canada and the USA, providing comprehensive advice on study options, admissions, visas and pre‑departure processes.

Key responsibilities

• Counsel prospective students on appropriate courses, institutions and career pathways.
• Conduct phone and face‑to‑face meetings to convey programme information and admission requirements.
• Assist students through application, visa and enrolment stages, ensuring timely submission and follow‑up.
• Develop and maintain relationships with students, families, schools, scholarship bodies and education institutions.
• Identify and generate new business leads, promote IDP products and services, and support marketing events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Fluent English with strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience in a sales‑driven environment, education counselling or related fields.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems proactively and act with integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using CRM systems for lead management and counselling processes.
