Head of Inclusion

About the role

The Head of Inclusion will provide strategic leadership for inclusion across the whole school, ensuring that every student from Early Years through Sixth Form is identified, supported, challenged and enabled to participate fully in school life as Gordonstoun Jubail Island grows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a whole‑school inclusion strategy aligned with the school’s four pillars.
• Lead pastoral provision, ensuring robust support for student wellbeing, mental health and personal development.
• Oversee English as an Additional Language (EAL) programmes and ensure appropriate language support.
• Coordinate assessment and counselling services to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Design and manage individualised student support plans, including gifted and talented provision.
• Train and mentor staff on inclusive practices and monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
• Collaborate with families, external agencies and senior leadership to promote an inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading inclusion or pastoral care within an international or independent school setting.
• Deep understanding of inclusive education frameworks, EAL support and student wellbeing.
• Strong analytical skills to assess student progress and adjust support strategies.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to influence staff and engage families.
• Commitment to the school’s ethos of character development, service and academic excellence.
