Head of India – Remittances

About the role

Taptap Send, a cross-border fintech for emerging markets, is looking for a Head of India to own the P&L, pricing and the regulatory landscape of its remittance business in India. The role reports to the Head of South Asia, builds a team of FX Advisors in India and growth managers in sending markets, and acts as the face of India inside and outside the company. Location is London or Dubai, with regular travel to India and sending markets.

Key responsibilities

• Own the P&L, volume, gross profit and CAC across every India corridor, and set FX and fee pricing corridor by corridor
• Define strategy and sequencing: which sender markets, communities and channels to acquire, starting with the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia and UAE
• Own the regulatory and partner landscape: RBI rules, bank partnerships and payout rails
• Work closely with product on the UX and services NRIs need, feeding customer insights back into pricing and support
• Build community partnerships and outreach across the diaspora, such as temples, gurdwaras, churches, student associations and employers
• Hire, coach and retain a small, fast team in India and in sending markets

Required profile

• 10 to 15 years in high-growth environments such as startups, operations, consulting, finance or fintech, owning a number
• Deep knowledge of and networks within the Indian diaspora, and understanding of migration patterns and community structures
• Commercially sharp, able to hold pricing, unit economics and CAC in mind
• Understands or can quickly master RBI rules and the compliance realities of moving money into India
• Multilingual, ideally, with fluent English and one of Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam
