Head of Information Technology Department

About the role

Al Nahiya Group is looking for a Head of Information Technology Department in Abu Dhabi. The role supervises the IT department, develops general IT policies and strategies, provides technical support and applies the best technical solutions across the Academy's activities, in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Set the objectives, initiatives and operational plans of the IT department, define its indicators and track them continuously.
• Contribute to the department's main objectives and guide the team toward higher quality, accuracy and effectiveness of services.
• Develop and document IT processes, procedures and work systems, and monitor performance against targets, taking corrective and preventive action.
• Prepare the annual IT budget and ensure compliance with it.
• Manage the Academy's IT infrastructure (servers, networks, computers, software) and evaluate new technologies, tools and providers.
• Design, build and maintain systems and applications for all organizational units, supporting daily operations and public services.
• Provide direct support to employees on electronic devices, systems and equipment to ensure business continuity.
• Coordinate with IT suppliers and negotiate contracts; manage IT projects such as software implementation, system upgrades and infrastructure enhancements.
• Monitor day-to-day IT practices and system performance, and plan and implement system upgrades and updates.
• Work with internal stakeholders to meet their requirements and deliver IT services promptly.
• Design security measures and protocols to protect IT and data systems from unauthorized access, breaches and cyber threats.
• Develop disaster preparedness practices and technical support to resolve hardware and software problems.
