Head of IP – Abu Dhabi

About the role

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a senior professional to lead its IP function in Abu Dhabi. The role will shape and execute the commercial and pricing strategy, ensuring the business meets its financial and operational objectives while staying competitive in the global freight market.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the commercial/pricing strategy, including planning, initiatives, tools and budgets.
• Oversee the development and delivery of high‑quality pricing proposals that reflect customer needs and market conditions.
• Support the creation of pricing strategies for a portfolio of products across targeted market segments.
• Design and implement pricing models, tools, systems and processes to enable value‑driven decision making.
• Manage the price‑setting, analysis and review process to maintain quality standards and internal controls.
• Lead profitability and rate‑level analysis for existing and potential business, providing management reports.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations on pricing decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Document price proposals and communicate them to relevant parties according to established standards.
• Research market trends, interpret the competitive landscape and identify target positioning by geography, segment and customer group.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial or pricing roles within logistics, freight or a related industry.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with a track record of developing pricing models.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross‑functional initiatives.
• Deep understanding of market dynamics and competitive positioning.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
