Head of Maths – Secondary (Start Sep 2026)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Maths to lead the newly‑opening secondary campus of GEMS Royal Dubai School from September 2026. The role combines strategic leadership of the maths department with hands‑on teaching across Key Stage 3, progressing to Key Stages 4 and 5.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for the maths department, driving academic standards and the #RoyalStandard.
• Teach and mentor students in Key Stage 3, expanding to Key Stages 4 and 5 as the school grows.
• Design and deliver outstanding lessons, sharing best practice with colleagues.
• Analyse student data to personalise learning pathways and accelerate progress.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of exam boards, pathways and the NCfE curriculum.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and support students’ personal and social development.

Required profile

• Recognised UK teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven track record of raising standards in mathematics.
• Self‑motivated, solution‑focused and committed to excellence for all learners.
• Creative, enthusiastic and reflective practitioner.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Required skills

• Deep subject knowledge of Key Stage 3‑5 mathematics (NCfE).
• Expert understanding of exam board requirements and pathways for KS4/5.
