Head of Quality & Risk Management

About the role

Fakeeh Health, a healthcare group based in the UAE, is looking for a Head of Quality & Risk Management. The role oversees the development and implementation of organisation-wide quality and risk management programmes, ensures full compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies and acts as the ultimate custodian of quality and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day oversight of the Quality and Risk Management department, including document management, risk management, data management, audits, reviews and performance improvement.
• Manage department logistics, work assignments, schedules, recruitment and annual evaluations, and develop the skills of team members.
• Lead compliance with local and international healthcare regulations and standards, manage accreditation processes and enhance quality and safety excellence programmes.
• Oversee the development and revision of hospital policies and procedures, and ensure they reflect current regulations and best practice.
• Ensure timely collection, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data for KPIs, and validate and share data with staff.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives focused on patient safety and quality of care.
• Oversee clinical documentation quality through quantitative and qualitative review data, and address suboptimal performance with leaders and committees.
• Organise safety campaigns, awareness days and educational events, and conduct safety culture surveys and assessments.
• Perform rounds and use tracers to check compliance with national and accreditation standards and International Patient Safety Goals.
• Implement training on quality improvement methods, risk assessment, data management, just culture, investigations and accreditation, and cover the risk manager's role during absences.
• Take part in hospital committees, leadership rounds, the annual budget process and the department's orientation and in-service programme.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, medicine, healthcare administration or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• Relevant certification in healthcare quality, patient safety or risk management (e.g. CPHQ/CPPS).
• 8-10 years of healthcare quality and risk management experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of UAE healthcare regulations and accreditation standards including JCI.
• Experience in clinical audits, incident investigation, RCA, risk assessment, CAPA, KPIs and quality improvement.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
