Head of Risk - Enterprise and Investment Risk

About the role

A well-established UAE financial services organisation is recruiting, through a recruiter, an experienced Head of Risk to oversee its Enterprise Risk and Investment Risk functions in Dubai. Reporting to the Group Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, the role leads two established risk teams, provides independent risk oversight, strategic guidance and executive-level reporting. The salary is AED 50,000 per month plus family benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Own and enhance the Enterprise Risk Management framework, including risk appetite, RCSA, KRIs and risk registers.
• Oversee investment risk across fixed income and sukuk portfolios, covering market, credit, liquidity and concentration risk.
• Review and challenge investment proposals, VaR, stress testing and portfolio risk analysis.
• Oversee operational risk, business continuity and third-party risk.
• Lead and develop risk teams, provide Board-level reporting and drive risk process improvements.

Required profile

• 8-10+ years of risk management experience within a regulated financial institution.
• Minimum 3 years leading and developing risk teams.
• Proven ownership of an Enterprise Risk Management framework.
• Investment risk experience across fixed income and/or sukuk portfolios.
• UAE regulatory experience (CBUAE, SCA, DFSA, FSRA or CMA).
• Strong executive and Board-level communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong quantitative understanding of VaR, stress testing and portfolio risk.
• FRM, PRM or CFA preferred; Sharia-compliant product knowledge advantageous.
