Head of Science Department – British Curriculum

About the role

LEAMS Education is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Head of Department (Science) for its British curriculum school in Dubai. The role joins the Academic Leadership Team, driving excellence in science teaching and learning across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with teachers to enhance subject knowledge, pedagogy and instructional practices to improve student outcomes.
• Lead and contribute to departmental and whole‑school planning initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to raise academic standards.
• Ensure teaching practices align with the UAE framework for teaching and learning, maintaining a minimum standard of quality in all lessons.
• Monitor, evaluate and support teaching quality within the science department.
• Undertake additional duties related to departmental leadership as required.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Chemistry or Physics.
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is an advantage (distance‑learning or open‑university degrees will not be considered).
• Strong command of the English language, both spoken and written.
• Currently available to work in the UAE.
• Minimum three years of experience in an academic leadership role within a British‑curriculum school in the UAE.
