Head of Section – Secondary (Grades 6‑12)

About the role

International Community Schools in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, is looking for a dynamic Head of Section to lead the Secondary programme (Grades 6‑12, American curriculum). The role oversees academic delivery, staff performance and ensures compliance with ADE‑K regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Cycle 2 and Cycle 3, driving curriculum implementation aligned with US Common Core standards.
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate teaching staff, fostering professional development and high‑quality instruction.
• Analyse academic and behavioural data to inform improvement plans and enhance student outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, parents and ADEK officials to maintain accreditation standards.
• Oversee assessment practices, reporting and continuous curriculum review.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or similar highly preferred.
• Valid teaching licence from a US state or equivalent North‑American authority.
• Minimum 7 years full‑time teaching experience in an American‑curriculum secondary school.
• At least 4 years of proven leadership experience (e.g., Head of Department, Assistant Principal).
