Health and Safety Officer I - Factory

About the role

MBRF, a global food company, is hiring a Health and Safety Officer I for its factory in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that safety practices are implemented, personnel receive the required safety and health training, and incidents, risks and hazards are managed in line with the ADOSH framework.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of best safety practices and that all personnel receive the safety and health training required by HSE.
• Assist in incident reporting, investigation, analysis and risk assessment under the ADOSH system framework.
• Take part in the quarterly Safety Department Review of safety and health objectives and improvements to the HSE manual.
• Maintain a system of incident reporting, investigation, analysis and risk assessment, and keep safety records and certificates required by ADOSH.
• Brief and instruct subcontractors on the safety and health procedures they must follow.
• Monitor and maintain safety and health, help prevent and fight fires, respond to accidents and control environmental pollution.
• Help define and specify PPE such as clothing, helmets, goggles, shoes, gloves and garments, and recommend changes to procedures, policies and safety documents.
• Follow up on recommendations of safety committees and work groups, coordinate with factory security staff and provide first aid or emergency assistance when needed.
• Comply with the BRF Sustainability Policy and the sustainability plan, supporting the company's ESG commitments.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of HSE standards, ADOSH requirements, ISO 45001 principles and environmental regulations.
• Ability to identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Capability to deliver safety inductions, coach employees and contractors and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Effective communication with employees, management, contractors and external authorities.
• Ability to respond to incidents and emergencies and provide first aid support.
