Healthcare Assistant (UAEN)

About the role

The Healthcare Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a Registered or Assistant Nurse at Speciality Hospital Dubai, supporting the NMC Nursing Vision, Mission and Values. The role focuses on delivering safe, compassionate, and individualized patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bedside care, assist with patient mobility, feeding, and hygiene while adhering to UAE Code of Conduct and licensing requirements.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation, perform vital sign measurements, and ensure proper use of equipment such as nebulisers and oxygen therapy.
• Participate in safety initiatives, report incidents, and contribute to quality improvement activities in line with NMC policies.
• Engage in continuous learning by attending journal clubs, training sessions, and competency assessments.
• Support the multidisciplinary team by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge, and acting as a positive role model for support staff.

• Must work within the limits of competence and take responsibility for personal actions.
• Comply with UAE Code of Conduct, Scope of Practice and regulator licensure.
• Willingness to learn new skills and actively contribute to a learning culture.

Required skills

• Patient identification and nursing documentation.
• Team communication using ISBAR framework.
• Falls prevention and hand hygiene practices.
• Basic clinical procedures such as vital sign measurement and oxygen therapy.
