Heat Treatment Technician

About the role

Edge is seeking a Heat Treatment Technician to set up, operate and monitor heat‑treatment furnaces and related equipment, including induction hardening machines, in its Abu Dhabi facility. The role ensures safe, efficient processing of a wide range of ferrous and non‑ferrous components while maintaining strict quality records.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate heat‑treatment furnaces, induction hardening machines and associated equipment.
• Carry out processes such as hardening, tempering, quenching, annealing, normalising, stress relieving, pre‑heating and post‑weld heat treatment.
• Monitor and record furnace temperature, heating rate, soaking time, cooling rate and quenching parameters.
• Select appropriate heat‑treatment cycles for carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminium alloys and other materials.
• Inspect treated components for distortion, cracking, oxidation or discoloration and coordinate corrective actions.
• Verify hardness against drawings or specifications using conventional or digital precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain complete, traceable records of all heat‑treatment data and reports.
• Assist in foundry operations such as sand‑mold casting, die casting, mold preparation, pattern making, melting and pouring.

Required profile

• Minimum 36 months (3 years) of experience in heat‑treatment processes.
• Ability to work safely with high‑temperature equipment and follow standard operating procedures.
• Familiarity with a variety of steel, iron and aluminium alloys and their heat‑treatment requirements.
• Attention to detail for quality inspection and record‑keeping.
