Heat Treatment Technician

About the role

The Heat Treatment Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining heat‑treatment furnaces and related equipment, ensuring safe and efficient processing of metal components for EDGE Group's advanced manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate heat‑treatment furnaces and induction hardening machines safely and efficiently.
• Carry out heat‑treatment processes such as hardening, tempering, quenching, annealing, normalising, stress relieving and post‑weld heat treatment.
• Monitor furnace temperature, heating rate, soaking time, cooling rate and record all process parameters.
• Perform heat treatment on carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminium alloys and other ferrous and non‑ferrous components.
• Verify hardness against drawings and specifications using conventional or digital precision instruments.
• Maintain traceable records of heat‑treatment data and ensure consumables, tools and PPE are available.
• Assist in foundry operations such as sand‑mold casting, die‑casting, pattern making and melting.

Required profile

• High school diploma (college diploma or heat‑treatment/foundry certification preferred).
• Minimum three years’ experience as a heat‑treatment technician working with ferrous and non‑ferrous parts.
• Ability to lift, carry and push items weighing over 20 kg.
• Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
