Heavy Duty Driver

About the role

This role operates heavy-duty vehicles to support project logistics, material transport and site operations. The driver plans routes, coordinates transportation and delivers equipment, materials and supplies safely and efficiently, in line with company procedures and traffic regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks and trailers as assigned, including a truck-mounted crane (HIAB) for loading, unloading and transporting equipment.
• Maintain vehicles in clean, safe working condition with basic checks and inspections, and perform pre-operational and daily checks on cranes and vehicles.
• Load and unload equipment according to local regulations, company procedures and manufacturer instructions, and secure the cargo on the truck.
• Take full responsibility for materials, machinery and project supplies during transport between depot and project sites.
• Support logistics, warehouse and site teams during loading, securing and documentation, and establish compliance with traffic laws, safety protocols and company policies.
• Deliver reports on mileage, fuel usage, delivery status and vehicle condition, and collaborate with site supervisors, logistics coordinators and other drivers.
• Carry out other tasks assigned by the direct line manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid heavy-duty driving licence (appropriate local category/class).
• 3-5 years of proven experience as a heavy-duty driver.
• Good verbal communication skills in English; ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.
• Additional certification in defensive driving, heavy vehicle operation or safety is an asset.
• Basic skills in handling loading and unloading equipment (cranes, forklifts) are an advantage.
