Homeroom Teacher – Al Rayana Charter School (Start Jan 2027)

About the role

Al Rayana Charter School, an American‑curriculum primary school in Abu Dhabi, is looking for a Homeroom Teacher to start in January 2027. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, fostering a positive learning environment and collaborating with colleagues, parents and support staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and present lessons that meet curriculum requirements and cater for the full ability range.
• Assess and record student progress using Target Tracker and provide feedback to parents.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policy and act as a positive role model.
• Work with fellow teachers, curriculum support staff and external professionals such as speech therapists to support student development.
• Communicate regularly with parents and contribute to school events, outings and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• 1–2 years of teaching experience, preferably with learners for whom English is an additional language.
• Demonstrated passion for whole‑child education and involvement in extracurricular activities.
• Professionalism, respect for a diverse school community and a solution‑focused attitude.
• Clean enhanced DBS/police check and residence in the same emirate as the school.
