Hotel Mechanic – Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

The Hotel Mechanic is responsible for responding to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance across the property. Working with minimal supervision, you will ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions and document activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of tools, equipment and building systems.
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines visually and conduct routine checks.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves, maintain inventory and requisition parts.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and related equipment.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and act as Engineer on Duty when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. with vocational/technical training.
• At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license and Universal CFC certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work on stairs, ladders and service ramps.
