Housekeeping Manager

About the role

Based at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, the Housekeeping Manager leads day‑to‑day housekeeping operations alongside the Executive Housekeeper and Director of Rooms. The role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the hotel’s 259 guestrooms, suites and public areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, train and develop the housekeeping team, conducting regular appraisals and training plans.
• Oversee cleaning schedules, inventories, minibar management and productivity monitoring.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Engineering to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, handle complaints and manage service recovery.
• Implement quality, audit and brand standards (Forbes, LQA, MOQA, FLHSS&E) while controlling costs.
• Support departmental projects, emergency situations and promote a respectful, discrimination‑free workplace.

Required profile

• Secondary school diploma; hospitality qualification or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality/Hotel Management is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a luxury hotel, with at least 2 years in housekeeping operations.
• Middle‑East hotel pre‑opening experience is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English (written and verbal); Arabic is beneficial.
• Excellent planning, organisational, multitasking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and work flexible overnight shifts.
