HSE Engineer

About the role

The HSE Engineer will support NMDC Dredging and Marine in delivering projects while protecting the environment and ensuring the safety of all personnel. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining the HSE Management System across site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out safety inspections of site facilities, equipment and marine units using HSE checklists.
• Report, investigate and analyse accidents, near‑misses and non‑conformities, recommending corrective actions.
• Lead safety group meetings and coach the workforce on HSE policies, emergency procedures and standards.
• Supervise subcontractors and site teams on safety issues and ensure proper maintenance of lifesaving and fire‑fighting equipment.
• Prepare and deliver HSE training plans, monitor competency and conduct emergency drills.
• Maintain HSE registers, incident reports, lessons‑learned databases and compile weekly HSE statistical reports.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in an engineering discipline or equivalent professional qualification.
• Relevant HSE management qualification and knowledge of the ISM Code.
• Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.

Required skills

• Implementation and auditing of HSE Management Systems.
• Conducting safety inspections, incident investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Developing and delivering HSE training and emergency response drills.
