HSE Engineer – Land & Marine Infrastructure

About the role

The HSE Engineer will ensure that all health, safety and environmental regulations are effectively implemented across both land‑based construction projects and offshore marine works. This role protects workers, the public and the environment while minimizing risks associated with complex infrastructure developments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and enforcing HSE policies and procedures for major infrastructure and marine projects.
• Conduct daily safety inspections on construction sites and offshore platforms, verifying compliance with safety guidelines.
• Deliver safety training programs covering hazard identification, PPE use and emergency response.
• Manage environmental monitoring programmes, including water, soil and air quality checks and hazardous material disposal.
• Support incident reporting, documentation and timely resolution of safety concerns.
• Monitor marine traffic during construction activities to prevent collisions and accidents.
• Perform regular audits and inspections of sites, equipment and operational procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Facilitate safety workshops, toolbox talks and environmental awareness sessions for site personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
• 5–8 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably on land and marine infrastructure projects.
• Ability to communicate in multiple languages as required for labour forces.
• Experience working in Abu Dhabi or the UAE is essential.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions, including shift work on offshore sites.
