HSE Engineer (Substation Background)

About the role

The HSE Engineer will support the Project Manager by planning, supervising and reporting on health, safety and environment activities for a 12‑month substation project in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the HSE focal point for the site, project and management, participating in routine progress meetings and issue resolution.
• Develop, implement and maintain the Project HSE Plan in line with contractual requirements.
• Lead accident investigations, conduct root‑cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are applied.
• Perform site visits and audits to evaluate HSE processes and close gaps.
• Provide HSE training, audit programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of HSE experience on EPC power substation or renewable projects.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale, multimillion‑dollar projects and multiple contractors.
• Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH IGC, International Diploma, OSHA/IOSH, and preferably ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor.
