HSE Inspector - TBM Tunnelling

About the role

AECOM is recruiting an HSE Inspector for TBM tunnelling projects in Dubai. The role works under direct supervision, covering environmental, health and safety disciplines to ensure compliance with ES&H standards and federal and state regulations. It is an on-site position within the Transportation business group.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic and routine duties across environmental, health and safety disciplines to meet ES&H standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining safety and health programmes, systems and procedures.
• Monitor hazards and diseases that may be present in the work area.
• Help investigate accidents, injuries and complaints about workplace hazards.
• Contribute to recommendations that improve processes, design, procedures and equipment to reduce hazards.
• Take part in employee training, emergency preparedness and programme quality assurance.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of HSE experience on major infrastructure construction projects.
• Mandatory experience in tunneling works (TBM, NATM, cut and cover or similar methods).
• Previous experience in viaduct or elevated structure construction is advantageous.
• Essential: previous experience in high-speed rail, railway, metro or rail infrastructure projects.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, environmental science or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk assessment and permit-to-work systems.
• Proficiency in incident investigation and hazard identification techniques.
• Preferred: NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely / Working Safely, OSHA certification, and first aid and fire warden certification.
