HSE Lead Specialist - Hospital / Healthcare

About the role

QHSES in Abu Dhabi is hiring an HSE Lead Specialist for a hospital / healthcare property. The HSE Lead implements, monitors and continuously improves health, safety and environmental performance across the site, ensuring compliance with UAE legislation, ADOSH-SF, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, client requirements and company HSE policies. The role provides site leadership, contractor governance, incident management and operational risk control.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and programs at site level, and keep HSE registers, risk assessments, inspection records and corrective action logs.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits and inspections, and monitor and report HSE performance metrics.
• Provide visible site HSE leadership, support Permit-to-Work and safe systems of work, and run toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Manage contractor HSE onboarding, compliance and supervision, including reviewing method statements, risk assessments, lifting plans and emergency arrangements.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and timely reporting and escalation of lessons learned and safety alerts.
• Deliver HSE inductions and awareness training, maintain training records and promote a positive safety culture.
• Supervise site HSE personnel, prepare HSE reports, dashboards and audit documentation, and coordinate with operations teams, contractors, clients and authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
• ISO 45001 Lead/Internal Auditor certification and ISO 14001.
• ADOSH registration (or equivalent).
• Incident investigation training (ICAM or similar).
• 8 years of HSE experience in the UAE, including at least 2-3 years in a hospital / healthcare environment.
• Experience with contractor safety management, live operational environments, incident investigation, PTW systems, audits and inspections, and ISO-aligned HSE management systems.
