HSE Officer – Oil & Gas Construction

About the role

The HSE Officer will lead health, safety and environment initiatives on a large‑scale oil & gas construction site in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure compliance with ADNOC, UAE regulations and international standards while supporting safe execution of all project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement company and client HSE policies, procedures and standards across the project.
• Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Hazard Identification (HAZID) and enforce control measures.
• Monitor site work to verify compliance with ADNOC and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions and awareness training for a multi‑national workforce.
• Perform daily inspections, report unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, prepare reports and ensure preventive actions are taken.
• Manage permit‑to‑work systems, PPE usage, confined‑space entry, hot works and safe lifting operations.
• Maintain HSE records, statistics and produce monthly performance reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Science (preferred).
• Minimum 6–8 years of HSE experience, with at least 3–4 years in oil & gas construction projects in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence a diverse workforce.
• Prior experience on ADNOC‑approved sites (Habshan BAB / BU HASA) is a plus.

Required skills

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (mandatory).
• OSHA or IOSH Managing Safely certification (preferred).
