HSE Officer – Waste Management

About the role

The HSE Officer will support the implementation and daily monitoring of health, safety and environmental requirements across waste management operations, ensuring compliance with legal, client and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain the HSE Management System in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Conduct routine HSE inspections of vehicles, depots, workshops, transfer stations and waste handling areas.
• Prepare and review risk assessments, job safety analyses, method statements and permit‑to‑work controls.
• Report, investigate and follow up on incidents, near‑misses and environmental spills.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and task‑specific training for drivers, collectors and supervisors.
• Monitor environmental controls for spills, dust, noise, odour, wastewater and chemicals.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports and coordinate corrective actions with operations and client teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (required) and 3‑5 years HSE experience, including at least 2 years in waste management or similar high‑risk environment.
• Valid UAE driving licence preferred.
