Humanities Teacher – Immediate Start

About the role

Aldar Academies is currently seeking a Teacher - Humanities at Yas American Academy on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi for an immediate start. This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly successful Aldar family of schools and to help shape the future of Abu Dhabi's leading school group.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring lessons aligned with the Massachusetts Common Core and local curriculum.
• Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the whole ability range.
• Assess and record student progress using Target Tracker and provide feedback to parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and support staff, including speech and language therapists and educational psychologists.
• Organise classroom resources, displays and learning environments.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policy.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Bachelor degree in the relevant subject and a B.Ed. or PGCE.
• Experience teaching AP/IB or A‑Levels standards, preferably in an international school.
• Ability to work with students for whom English is not the first language.
• Passion for whole‑child education and a high level of professionalism.
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

• CPOMS (child protection and safeguarding management system).
