In-Room Dining Chef de Partie

About the role

JW Marriott in Dubai is looking for an in-room dining Chef de Partie. The role covers preparing and cooking food to recipe and quality standards, managing kitchen equipment and supporting the food and beverage service team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items, and prepare cold foods
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist
• Maintain food logs and inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials
• Tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items, and anticipate guests' service needs
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and coaching staff, and act as a role model
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift up to 25 pounds
