Indirect Tax Assistant Manager

About the role

EY is seeking an Assistant Manager to join its Indirect Tax team in Dubai, providing VAT and customs advice on complex cross‑border transactions and supporting clients with tax disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on VAT treatment of new and complex transactions and resolve classification or dispute issues with authorities.
• Collaborate with a global network of VAT professionals, preparing reports, schedules and meeting materials for client engagements.
• Develop deep understanding of Customs Law, Free Trade Agreements, valuation, classification and origin to support client outbound investments.
• Provide indirect tax expertise for audit and transaction projects and prepare for potential VAT introductions in various jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Degree in economics, finance, tax or accounting with at least 4 years of relevant indirect tax experience.
• Strong client‑facing skills, commercial awareness and ability to manage projects, budgets and deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral English communication and ability to build relationships at all levels.
